Dan Chak is a computer scientist, author, and entrepreneur.

He has two degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology: A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering; and a Master of Arts in Media Arts and Sciences, granted by the MIT Media Laboratory.

Dan gained his industry experience at Amazon.com as a software engineer; at CourseAdvisor.com as Director of Software Engineering; at Fluent Mobile (now called Fiksu) as Vice President of Engineering; and at Oblong Industries as Vice President of Software Engineering.

He also consults in a variety of areas:

• Database schema design
• Software architecture
• Software product definition
• Technical specification
• Resource planning

Dan's software focus is currently in Ruby/Rails web technologies, cloud computing, and database design, and information architecture.

Outside of technology, Dan is a registered yoga teacher. He teaches yoga in Los Angeles, CA.
